Fittings grip and croosguard looks little strange?

the grip doesn't seem to match with the guards and even doesn't seem an Eickhorn production imo

Exactly my thoughts. About the dedication: that's for the real experts to judge.

In addition to some of what has been observed as it regards the overall way it looks, there is also no way to mistake the indication of an over-tightening of the pommel nut for anything else, or why that was necessary while reassembling the dagger. FP

Since this dagger has already been obviously dis-assembled I'd like to see what the interior of the cross guards looks like. I agree that the grip is somewhat strange looking and doesn't look like an Eickhorn to me.

Himmler Honor daggers have a outstanding fit in all parts.
In my opinion, that grip did not come originally with those crossguards, as the fit is worse than a late war RZM SA dagger.

Odd looking cracks to the lower reverse portion of the grip by the crossguard, more visible in pictures 6 & 15. Maybe a repair to the ebony?

I was thinking the same thing about damage to the wood, after trying to figure out if an over-tightening (or forced fitting) that I noticed caused some damage. I think yes - pictures to follow. FP

With this one there is no question in my mind that a piece of the grip was broken off and reattached.

Here I'm not quite as sure - and in-hand would be looking very closely.

Others may see it differently, but that's my opinion from what I'm seeing in the images. FP
