New to me Kriegsmarine Dagger Opinions, Info and Value

Recently picked this dagger up from a seller on ebay! He is a Third Reich collector here on the forum i do not know his handle! He has an excellent collection! In had the dagger is very nice and i have no issues with it! He told me he got the scabbard and dagger separately, but they fit together nicely and i dont think that really hurts the value! It is maker marked, Eickhorn and has the foundry cast mark on it! The blade is the non etched version, overall its a nice dagger no damage or issues! I was wondering if anyone could give me any more info about it and how much do you all think it is worth ? Thanks in advance!

Personally, I never liked this Carl Eickhorn logo type. (dating 1941 - 1942)
Scabbard was made in pre. 1939 period.

I've yet to figure out why people buy a dagger and then proceed to take it apart.

The pommel and cross guard are Eickhorn but the scabbard is Horster, you can tell this by the very large eyelets. Russ

The dagger is less desirable to some collectors without an Eickhorn scabbard.

Thanks everyone for the comments on it ! I knew the scabbard and dagger were not original to each other didnt know about the maker difference! Thanks for letting me know! Does anyone have a value idea on this piece ?

Jamie7d7- this is how i received it, i had to put it back together!

IMHO, One should not buy daggers like this. It is like assembling a car from parts from a junk yard.
Value is whatever the parts are worth. No collector value.

Sorry, but I have to state it like I see it.

Gold finish is also gone. What we see is naked brass

Blade condition is not very desirable for a very common maker.

I would agree . I see more and more of this type stuff on Estand and the guys buy up these " bargains " and they have Nothing in the end !
