Fighting Knife

I was sent this knife by a friend of mine in Europe as a gift, I know NOTHING about German fighting knives. Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to clean it and where does one find some books or material about them?

The rivets were filled with grease and grit to the point you could not see the rivets.

Dont have seen a WaA36 by Horster firm? it is very suspicious, maybe a contractor for bards? best regards,Andy

Hardly suspicious. Looks like a so called boot knife. Basically a knife that could fit in a boot top.
