Even the RZM mark is way off. I own a Max Weyersberg RZM & seen a bunch over the years. This mark looks nothing like the typically seen mark. I didn't have to look any further.

Hopefully the buyer knew what he was getting, if not, hope he reads this thread.

Well, the buyer read this thread ! And they are both sold and allready payed for and shipped.
It was after reading this thread that he contacted me, so don't worry.
I have never fooled anyone, it's sad though that I"m selling my items, and most of the items I bought from over here last decade.
I stopped collecting about 10 years ago, and now that I'm selling my small collection all of a sudden some of them seem to be fake.
Sold a helmet that was on e-stand for weeks, noone reacted back then that one of the decals were fake.....when I sold it after being in my posession for several years all of a sudden the decal was a clear fake. Some of my kids must have scratched it off and repainted it

Thanks Serge for exposing this, however I believe the eStand is flawed.

I have been reprimanded by moderators previously for warning of fakes, so I don't alert people any longer. Sadly I've seen this many times before and have empathy for the buyers having acquired obvious copies/fakes.

I understand why comments are not encouraged on sales threads due to moot comments like "if I didn't already have one, I'd buy this" or "this is a steal" etc...etc...

WAF should be a safe-haven of both knowledge and a secure environment for collectors to buy and trade. Just my .02c worth...

BTW, congrats on the overwhelming support as Mod, you're the right man for the job!

                      Best, Red

Ten years ago there are not much of a dagger forum on WAF, as most of the experienced guys were on another forum. However, in recent years many have left there and are here now. Some of whom have commented on this thread.

It's good that the buyer has read this thread, and knows what he's buying, so what happened to you doesn't happen to him.

There have also been expanded knowledge in Helmets. Previously accepted SS, where collectors paid many thousands, were found to be clever painted fake decals.
It was finally exposed by a helmet collector who is a member here. See: Champagne SS decal.

                          Hi Red,

It's good to see a experienced name post here again.
Any dagger, knife or sword, should be able to be discussed here. Particularly, blades on estand. We just did one above, and it was conducted properly, with no malice.
I want the blade hobby to breathe, and experienced long time and well-balanced collectors like yourself are warmly welcomed.

IMO, debate is good for the hobby as we learn a lot through it. I have no problem with it. There are couple points that will not 'fly' here with me:

                          1. Fakers, testing by posting their latest product on the membership.

                          2. Agenda Bashing.

Outside of that, and the usual membership rules - lets talk blades !

Welcome Back ! It's been a long time.

                          Serge

Not for my collection. Too many red flags! Like mentioned: nowaydays we look more carefully at certain things and more and more fakes getting exposed.

                            Regards, Wim
