    HJ knife , early?

    Dear Collectors.

I have just acquired from my friend this RZM M7/60 HJ Knife. I was told that the scabbard hasn't been repainted. Price 400 GBP . Your comments are welcome.
    Thanks

        hello daniel
for my opinion the scabbard is new painted , , the knife is in poor condition 80% of the silver finish is missing! 400£ is a more hight price for this knife! just my opinion!
        best regards

Thanks Patrick for your opinion. Yes. I think so that the scabbard was redone. The black paint is present on leather frog.

            Daniel,

What you have is a "mottoed RZM only" HJ-knife by Gustav L. Koller.
" Mottoed RZM only" HJ-knifes are tough to find and this one is a real rare one, so even with the repainted scabbard, you did not too bad -in my opinion- for 400 GBP.

The "high on the blade" motto is typical for this maker.

            Best regards,

            Victorman

              Great explanation Victorman !

              £300 - £350 would be a better deal

              Regards Mac 66

Thanks. My friend has owned it since 1962. He said That was purchased straight from veteran. That was the reason he didn't want to sell it cheaper, however he didn't want to sell it at all but I was constantly asking and I finally I overpaid.

Thanks for your comment. Take care.

If you are happy with it and it is what you wanted to buy, you did not overpay.

                  Price is relative.

I have paid silly prices to get things that I really wanted and could find nowhere else.

Be happy with what you have.

Thanks. In a way I am slightly disappointed as I was told by my friend who was selling it to me- this is original paint. I haven't look at it but after posting the photos I paid more attention and in my opinion the scabbard was repainted but I am sure in 99%.

The leather frog is slightly covered by black paint. Shouldn't? Isn't it?
