I have no dog in this fight.
However, regarding evidence to back up Schlange's claims concerning post war availability of factory left over F Herder blades with the cross keys TM, he is quite correct. Various blade patterns, including SA, were available for sale from Tom Johnson back in the 1990's.

Eickhorn blades were also available over time since WW2, so this proves nothing in the case of Herders. I didn't know that some customers only "rent" pieces as time goes bye. I wonder how many times Victorman could have sold this dagger in the two year period?? Ownership never passes in some people's mind.

Ron,
Not just Eickhorn, we have both seen many parts at shows, from vets, Atwood and others over the years. Ray Zyla has some great stories about Atwood and the masses of parts he had, which sometimes he would assemble in-front of you. He would tell you, the parts are all from the same factory and were assembled by him vs. at the factory, only difference was location, at least early on.
If the owner does not want the dagger, I am sure Victorman would buy it back at a price he could offer. Not return, ownership has passed by far according to estand rules. Since the credibility of the dagger has been so damaged which I think devalues the dagger. I think if Victorman paid 50%, it would be fair. Owner should also pay shipping back to him.
If either of you don't like it, keep it!
