    Jacobs SA Dagger

    Good day folks

Here is a Jacobs SA dagger with a few issues.

As you can see all nickel plate fittings but the carry loop has broken and what is left is a messy attempt at a repair.

As you can also see the blade is in backwards. The nut is tight so I'm not going to try to correct the blade. Let the future owner do that.

Apart from that is it OK?

    Many thanks

    James

        The all important blade.

No damage to the blade it's self just the discolouration you can see.

This isn't of interest to me so I will be moving it on. Is £175 a fair price?

        Many thanks

Other than the missing scabbard ring, the two screws needed to attach the top scabbard hardware are also missing. The manufacturer, Jacobs & Co., is a fairly rare one, #7 on the McSARR list. The "Ha" mark on the reverse lower crossguard represents SA-Gruppe Hansa and is from the earliest orders for SA sidearms. The condition of the blade is certainly a concern, as a dagger's worth is directly associated with it's blade.

            Thanks for the comments folks.

SA-Gruppe Hansa - thanks for that information. Very helpful.

            All the best
