    Gilted HJ leader marine dagger

Cleaning my files I found these pics from a dagger I owned once.
I got it untouched, uncleaned, never aparted.
Being suspicious due to the fakes that were all around , I aparted it and discovered that all parts were numbered "6"
    Pics are from 1997.

Interesting HJ Leader. First time I seen a Gold example disassembled (I would never do that to a HJ Leader).
Need to have Ron W. take a look at this. I haver had one, but I like what I see. Thanks for showing.

Does the motto have black paint in the lettering ?

No black paint in the lettering. Only acid etched.
When i aparted the dagger and found the numbers, I send a fax, and pictures (it was the old days) to JRB and he answered me that the dagger had a smelling of authenticity.
I may have the report in my paper files somewhere.

Type error; I meant to say that 'I never owned one' (gilded version). Yes, they are period authentic. I can't state more on this one, except that I do like it. But don't know 100% if it's period correct.

I've seen only two gilt HJ Leaders, both were Hörsters like this one. It does look like it is period. Would be nice to see something like this up close, what a shame you sold it off.

I had a chance to buy one of these back in 2000 or 2001 & I let the opportunity slide by me. Have regretted it ever since.
