    Unknown knot, what for ??

    Hi all,

    I got this knot and its different from what I had before. It seems to have metal/ Alu wooven into the fabric ?

    What could it be ?`

      I suspect it's a standard Heer dagger knot that's showing an atypical type of tarnishing / oxidation. Seen this on a variety of dagger & bayonet knots, probably due to materials which may have differed from manufacturer to manufacturer.

        I think Billy is correct. It looks like the Portepee is made from a combination of celluloid and wire bits and pieces that have aged differently.

          I believe they are celleon material and I have had these on some later produced army and navy daggers.

            I have seen these on both late navy's and late army's as well, I just picked one up at the last SOS show.
