    More Pics

If possible could you send additional pics. Would like to see views of the entire blade, (both sides) makers mark, inside pic of the quillion, rifle slot and the mortise key. At first look it appears to be a Holler produced piece, but more pics would be appreciated. Best wishes,

    Mat J

From the pics provided, I can definitely say your etched bayonet is definitely a period piece. Forgive me, at first glance I thought that the bayonet was a Holler etch. There are very subtle differences on the book ends of the Alcoso and Holler etches with this pattern, with regards to the wehrmacht eagle at the end of the blade. Shame about the grips. (I'm sure I'll have some pieces missing when I'm as old as this bayonet) If you wanted to invest the money I'm sure there are some professionals in the business who could somehow bring this double etched beauty back to life. Thanks again for posting the pics that were requested. I'm confident now others will offer their opinion your bayonets authenticity. I have to add that this is the first example I have seen with regards to these patterns presented on the obverse and reverse on the same blade. This for me was a learning opportunity. I hope John Z or any forum member can provide an example if they care to do so. This would ensure I would not have to ingest a healthy portion of "Humble Pie". Best wishes,

          Mat J
