Wonder if anyone can help. I was given a vet pick up (honest one) of a LW 1st pattern officers dagger, made by Eickhorn of Solingen in excellent condition (apart from scabbard, which has been stripped to bare metal). My question was concerning an inscription on the opposite side of the blade from the maker mark. Engraved down the blade approx covering 5cm are the letters III / Fl 157. 150.
Could this be identified as a unit marking or is it for something else. Over to the experts.
