    KS98 Sawback

    hi,
have been after one of these for several years. Quite scarce if not rare. I had one before but the missus said cannot keep everything. Well now she is gone I can indeed keep anything and everything. What is extra cool is came with a period frog a little tattered but none the less original and dated 1906. And from a local guy who is thinning his collection of bayonets and fighting knives. I have been led to believe these were issued to machine gun troops and colonial troops. If true this may explain why I have come across 3 here in Oz. Possible bring backs from the Middle East WW1 as there where German gunners with the Turks. Is this a feasible assumption.

    cheers Robert

Interesting piece, the frog is certainly a colonial piece, KA stamped 1906, possible not visible units stamp in middle part of backside? b.r.Andy
