Is it common for the grip to have a slight wiggle to it?Comment

Yes....just talking with other collectors at sos regarding wiggle and if it can be taken apart put some plain card stock between the leather washer and inside cross guard maybe a piece or 2 or even 3 but what happened is a combination of grip shrinking and the leather washer has shrunk....you will be just filling the void and it will have no ill effect on daggerComment

Gunny, yes these daggers vary in the tang to grip fit, usually they will wiggle back and forth a bit unless the pommel is tightened down alot, and you don't want to risk cracking the grip by doing that too much! It is the exception to the rule and usually just on very early pieces that the grip is perfectly fit to the tang with no motion. Best, Kevin.Comment
