Need Opinions / Help on Horster Police Bayonet

Hi if anyone could give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on this rig I would appreciate it. I feel it is genuine and have been trying to study the more common fakes, but am not an expert in these. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It is not a fake. It is a police bayonet from Düsseldorf police.

Thanks everyone. Is it common to find these with unmarked scabbards? Were they always issued with a matching scabbard and were unmarked replacements maybe?

When these bayonets were originally issued in the Weimar era, most were stamped with matching numbers on the reverse crossguard & reverse top scabbard fitting when they were issued to the respective municipalities. Over the years, some were mismatched, others were reissued & I believe little emphasis was given to the old Weimar numbers. Many can be found with "X"s through the old numbers & new numbers lacking the city designations can be seen. A lot of mismatches no doubt happened when the vets took their booty.

As far as a numbered bayonet with plain scabbard, my inclination would be that it is a mismatch after 1945. It might have happened in the period although the true reason we may never know.

Agree with the above.
Some get concerned about that mm on the obverse as it was used post war but it is absolutely correct here.
