    Stolen Teno Hewer

    Good evening fellow collectors.

During the Christmas season, I decided to put a few of my duplicate militaria items in the South County Antique Mall located in South Saint Louis County (Missouri). I went in today to remove some of the items to take with me to the SOS.

I realized that my Teno hewer is missing from a locked case. I believe it happened in the last 3 to 4 weeks.

It is instantly recognizable because a previous owner engraved his name "Wilkinson" on both the scabbard and the hewer. I think there was also a long number, perhaps 6 to 8 digits, along with the name, but I do not remember for sure. I did not photographs the hewer. The plating is excellent minus (perhaps 95%) and the paint is near mint, but at one time the blade was sharpened and later polished.

A police report will be filed.

Any help in recovering this dagger will be appreciated. St. Louis if about 275 miles from Louisville, so it might turn up there. I plan to give security at the show and selected dagger dealers a flyer.

    Thank you,

        Update

I did a cursory inventory of the larger items in the mall, and found that I am missing a Red Cross EM hewer also. I must assume the 2 daggers are together. The Red Cross does not have a frog. Other than that it is pretty much generic, just a nice example. But... if you see the two together, it hope it raises a red flag.

Good luck to all in Louisville!
