This one has a link chain that I have not seen on Postschutz daggers. I am also not familiar with that type of clip. Has not the proper number of links from the factory (but that can always been modified by the original owner).

I don't care for the shape of the blade toward the tip, or the hand/factory 'second edge' toward the tip. I also don't care for the color of the steel.
The Weyerberg maker mark should be crisp, if not polished. I can't tell by the photos, but it doesn't ring the bell for me.

The grip eagle, although not aluminum (I seen period ones that for some reason were not), I have not seen this type and looks like it was cast from a inferior mold as the details are somewhat lacking. The worst part is the wreath is not symmetrical to the swas.

There's a couple other things but I will hold back on that. I guess I don't like it as a period original dagger.

However, That's JMO. See what the other guys say.

Chain is not a Postschutz chain. I would want to see the blade tang for the proper marking.

I agree with Serge and Ron, very strange dagger. Eagle, chaine, blade (logo). Maybe it restored or parts item.

          Here are 3 more pictures.
Look at the finish of the blade! Restored?

Klaus, The additional photos don't change my opinion.
The three guys who have a good idea about this model (besides a couple others I know, but they choose to remain silent) have already spoken.

The Postschutz is not a model many are familiar with as it's a scarce dagger.
Ron W. has decades of experience, and Den 70 has studied the best fakes of this model in the last few years.

I would reject this lot from your auction. If I'm asked on it I would have to give it a

This dagger is in storage and has been sometime since I had it in hand and referring to old pics taken . I remember appreciating the true cross grain and craftsman ship for this dagger .The purchase took me some time on lay away from a dealer years ago to purchase . .
