    numbered NSKK dagger

    I just picked up this dagger, and would appreciate your comments
    If this dagger and number is real , can any one can tell from this number who the original owner was ?

      Rare maker, even more rare group stamp "Oe" for "Österreich" (Austria)

      The chances to identify the owner by the number are slim to none. Like finding a needle in the haystack.

        I agree as to the Austrian origin of this early piece, and also that it would be most difficult to trace back the member's number. If it were my dagger, I'd send a note to Robert McDivitt of Militaria Research Services in New Jersey, who is a professional archivist and has access to vast banks of file taped records of the period, and ask him what he can find out about the original holder of this number. Perhaps nothing will come of it...but just maybe...!!
