K98 bayonet with GREEN SPRAY PAINTED scabbard?

Dear All,
Years ago I bought this K98 bayonet with green painted scabbard. Usually the scabbards are all blued, or at least, as far as my knowledge goes.

Did period painted/sprayed K98 scabbards exist? All info welcome!

IMO, this particular one seems to have the paint originally period applied.
Here some info on the scabbard:
- marked: "41 cof" and "8422 J" on the other side
- no traces of any blueing, sandblasting or anything else what would show that it ever was a blued scabbard.
- Inside of scabbard is blank metal, no traces of paint.
- Also the small screw on the side is painted.
- Small WaA marking at the "ball bottom" of the scabbard (as they all have).

Info ont the bayonet:
- Wooden grip, "7736 C" marked and "S/172".
- Blued finish

Bayonet scabbard is re-painted in new time. (it's visible a paint lifting - bubbles because the old layer of corrosion)
There are some versions K98 combat bayonet painted in white winter camouflage.

Strange thing is that I encountered last October one which is quite exactly the same of finish.
This one however is 43 dated and matching numbers. I took pics in the same light (lamp) to compare.
I also notice that the paint is only a bit "bubbled" on the spot where the "Frosche" is covering the metal.

Is this maybe a repainting done by a particular army/country after the war? IF so, there would be hunderds known. But I can not link the color of paint with any post-war army so far.
Were definately all WW2 scabbard blued and not painted?

I thought it was interesting enough to jot a treath. For sure because in all my years of collecting, I only encountered those 2 with this paint. Maybe just coincidence..

Last picture. No traces of former blueing at all as far as I see.

It had all turned to light surface rust as often happens on these scabbards.

Both paints could be made postwar, the green paint was used as cover by various countries, teoretically Czechoslovakia, or other countries Belgium? could use it too probably postwar. Certainly the paint is not german WW2 period.I saw some FN bayonets with similar paint for South america export.Or its owner repaint, the second one have sanded grips probably. But no other refurbishment visible there. b.r.Andy

Thanks for the replies! Well, I guess we can keep it on some after war repainting job. Maybe Yoguslavia or that area? As far as I know, no German WW2 bayonets were used after the war in Belgium.

Communist Yugoslavia had a different style of reworking K98 combat bayonet.
