WTK Need help with authenticity of SS and NPEA daggers

Hello all, this is my first post here. I'm a new collector to the edged weapons side of militaria. Of course I seem to be starting with the most difficult of edged weapons, German SA/SS...

I have a vet here local who has an SS dagger and NPEA dagger for sale. For the most part I believe they are correct however I would appreciate members inputs here as I've only started collecting edged weapons. I've done plenty of research and looking at other daggers but I may be missing some other tell tale signs.

The first dagger, is marked M7/81 RZM 1241/39 SS. The scabbard is missing screws, ball is dented and split open. The screws at the top have been removed and replaced at some point as the heads are chewed up from an improper screwdriver. The blade tip looks ok, blade edges have knicks and what I believe are file marks removing burrs. The blade where it meets the crossguard doesn't look right to me, too much gap. Thought they should fit snug?

The second dagger is a student NPEA, crossguard is marked with "O" and number 72. Manuf mark is Eickhorn/Solingen.

Before I negotiate any price on these, is there anything out of the ordinary or suspect? His asking price is way off, right now he wants $2,000 for both and he'll include the Luftwaffe salesman samples.

Thanks in advance for any inputs! The seller is local so I can get more pics if need be.
