    Josef Wolf SA

Some pics of my latest find. Josef Wolf of Munchen. Crossguard stamped Ho
Retains much of its original lacquer coating to the grip, lots of cross graining (hard to see on these pics) Scabbard in great condition with original finish intact. Quite a rare maker to find ? Pics are not great so apologies.
    Opinions welcome.

    Thanks

That's my kind of dagger! Great patina... the grip lacquer is characteristic of Josef Wolf. Nice find!

A beauty, gennki! Congrats on landing it! A very early example from the original orders for daggers from SA-Gruppe Hochland. A real keeper!

        Cheers,

        Br. James

Thanks for all your comments so far.

I just found out that this SA has come to me through the family of the original owner. They have very kindly agreed to pass on some period photos, and other documents that belonged to their relative. A great and probably rare opportunity to get some history with this beautiful dagger.

I will post anything of interest that is passed on to me.

Nice dagger. Wolf was one of the few manufacturers varnishing the wooden grips with lacquer. Nice find

To be honest with you I'm not a fan of these lacquered grips. I really like the tiger striped grips, however its still a great find and will make a super addition to my collection.
