They are original IMO. The gold color occurs when the original varnish that was put on the metal parts ages and turns into a gold hue. Years ago they were rumored to be hangers for a general but that's not true. Most hangers have lost their original varnish (or were not varnished) and that's why they don't have a gold hue.

thanks mate, i heard these controversy about "generals hanger" , they seem to be original to me ,when i compare it with the average lw hangers i cant find any difference apart from the color but i just never had one like this in my hands before

Boy, that gold looks brand new! I would wonder if it was the original coating turning color as the straps are quite worn but the finish isn't?? The original finish wore fairly easily on these with the pot metal based fittings.. JMO.. Kevin.

I'm not saying that dagger hanger is not original (or are), but the e-bay you can find a post-war gold dagger hanger for a Luftwaffe 2. model dagger one like these one:

"Gold General Officer's" daggers do not legitimately exist (not that I've haven't seen some for sale), but there was a Luftwaffe/Army) regulation as it regards a specific gold colored set of hangers for high ranking officers. But the color here in the images seems to be off, and not 'in hand' I'm inclined to be somewhat suspicious as to what exactly I'm seeing with this particular set. FP

You would also think that the upper hanger gold would be more worn away considering the wear of the fabric at that area. Ron

Thank you guys .thats what i thought the gold looks brand new compared with the cloth parts . Maybe someone put again the gold wash at some point wich makes it not fake but a ruined piece.
