Seen the RZM mark on hangers before and read they are sometimes found on LW early trans. daggers.

Looks like an original early 1st LW by SMF. I don't see a problem with the hanger clip.

Hey Schlange, what would you do when the dagger is dirty and greasy, and spotted with paint spray and dried food residue? Put it on display as is?

I have a transitional DLV/luft', also with the early RZM/UE marked clip.

What exactly has ben cleaned/over cleaned on the above dagger that started this thread? I see original patina on all the exterior surfaces.

Nice dagger, nothing unfortunate about a cleaned dagger what is unfortunate is that people like schlange feel this way about cleaned daggers and every time they see one keep banging on about it. I agree with James I still see patina on this dagger and cleaned or not its still a nice piece.

Looked at the dagger today in hand. The scabbard has been stripped of the leather and is painted. Hard to tell from the pic provided but someone did a nice match of the color. The paint is old but unknown when or why.
