I can't tell you if it original or not it's not my field and Damascus is out of my price range. But I can say I like the pattern on the blade and the wear to the high spots of the etch look good. The gold letters are worn the same way on each letter that stands up.

I'm not an expert but with the repeating pattern, I would say imitation (faux) damascus....Bodes

I got caught by one of these Jim Attwood fakes back in the late '60's. Can be seen in his 1965 reference on daggers.
