WW2 KBar Dagger? Please help ID

Hello all. I picked this knife up last week from the son of the soldier. He said that his father made this knife while serving during WW2. Please help me identify. There is NO identifiable marking anywhere on the blade. Just trying to figure out what it might be. It measures about 15" long total, the blade is just under 10.5". Thanks in advance for the help.

I think you will get more responses if you post this in the "U.S." Section as this appears to be a theatre-made American combat knife.
