I don't think it's considered rare but it definitely considerably more scarce than the version that has the eagle at both ends of the etched panel.

            Thank you
I collect helmets no daggers so I have no idea.
So was this one for Army, Luft or both?

              Giorgio,

I agree with Fred, this pattern is not rare but more scarce than the pattern with adlers at top & bottom.

This pattern is for Luftwaffe since it has the gulls at the top, the brown frog is also Luftwaffe. It's a nicely conditioned original bayonet.

Could have been for a Wehrmacht - Fallschirmjäger

While this pattern is not listed in the Eickhorn 1938 catalogue, it is pictured in Wayne Techet's book on page 114 and he has indicated that it is 'rare'.

This etch is one of the more difficult to find of the Eickhorn etches and is for Luftwaffe personnel.

                  Nice bayonet and etch.

                    John,

Wayne would know. For some reason, I dodnt think this pattern was all that rare.

Like so many things it's only rare if you are trying to find one!
When you are trying to sell one they seem to be everywhere!
                        Nice Bayo!
