      Dear Truman23, if you could take a picture of the mortise key, quillion and the mortise slot, some of the etchperts will gladly give you there opinion. By the pictures you provided I see know issues what so ever. The borders of the etch look nice a close to the edges of the blade, the way they should be. Nice honest long model WKC. John Z. I'm sure will be chiming in here shortly. Congratulations on this fine piece of history.

        This etch can be seen in Wayne's book on page 235 (it is the one title 'B'). This etch pattern is indicated by Wayne as common and was probably produced for WKC by Holler.

        Nice example of a variation to the common etch (I think that the 'B' pattern is harder to find than the 'A' pattern, but that is just my opinion).
