There's no argument from me. It was bad enough when some supposedly reliable sources routinely sold postwar fakes (technically fantasy pieces). But now the higher quality fake reproductions of original period items has reached the level where some additional fine tuning can make it even more difficult to sort out the good from the bad. FP

And it is giving a bad name to our great hobby and will keep new collectors away.

Unfortunately some big names seem to be involved... But nevertheless the collecting community should get organised, react and put an end to crimes like this!

I couldn't agree more. However, some of these big names are being protected by many people.
There is a big problem in this hobby. And has all to do with greed and money.

I don't know but when you look at the 2012 HH auction one can clearly see it's a laser etch.

I thought that HH was offering it, when I was told it was an old auction I didn't contact them.

My first glance, fake, why, devil is in the details. The chemical ageing is a tall tale sign......If you study the real ones then look at this example, you will see many red flags. BUT they are getting better.

Since you asked.The trademark seems a tad bit high from the crossguard.I know perfect Rohm reproductions have been made because I have seen them and when they get to be the price they are..........buyer beware.
