Well I have built up a decent sized collection over the years and I was lucky enough to have known and dealt with a small group of dealers and collectors that always offered a 100% guarantee. With knowledge gained from these fine people and a large pile of books,I know one thing for certain. Deal with the seller first then the item, listen to what others say about the person but judge for yourself. Do not let your guard down and never be afraid to ask questions.
I have for the past two years been selling my collection at numerous locations in the UK. I have helped quite a few new hobbyists start their own stash. I always chat about what I have and I am always learning. No one is perfect but if an item I have sold turned out to be wrong I would not hesitate in buying it back once I had done my own extra research. There is an element of jealousy in this hobby that can cause grief.
A lot of those that have been mentioned here are exactly the people that I would deal with any day of the week. Reputation is the mainstay of any business. Greed the downfall.
At some time in the Future most collectors will start to sell their investment and with it pass on their knowledge. It is one of the things I like best about this hobby.
If you do not have a photographic memory buy a decent camera and laptop.

JR Meda
JR Meda and his son Kris are hands down two of the most honest dealers in this hobby. https://medamilitaria.com
In mine and many other collectors opinion JR is one of, if not the foremost expert in the world on SS daggers.
Pay attention on this and the other collector forums. When JR speaks about SS daggers USUALLY only the forum fools and armchair experts will ever disagree.
It’s not uncommon for the forum “experts” to go on and on page after page explaining why a dagger is wrong only to have JR simply post “looks good to me”. Then like magic all the “experts” start backpedaling and making excuses for why they got it wrong reassuring all of us that the problem was that they were viewing the pictures on their phone or some other nonsense.
Watching JR in those moments is like watching Michael Jordan in the 1993 All Star game. The man clearly has a gift

My experience with John (JR) in many, many years dealing with him SS-Blades is the fact that he is an " Ehrenmann" - man of honor- and a one of the best SS-dagger experts i am knowing!
And yes,i am glad for the next deal with him
