Just a tought but what is the leather buffer pad doing there ? It's supposed to be on the other side protecting the scabbard throat.

Someone took the dagger appart and placed the buffer on the wrong place. It should be on the blade itself...

Interesting....

It came to me that way. I'll ask the seller about that. Curious... I thought something was a bit "off" with the item, but couldn't place it! The parts were a bit loose when I received it.
