Heer Dagger Parts Maker? Which Makers Used?

    Hello All,

I was told these came from the same parts dagger. I would like to know if they are a "matched" set, and who the maker might be, or what makers typically used which of the parts. The pommel has 12 leaves, the ferrule has 7.

    Thank you!

    Eric

Crossguard is Horster Solingen 2. type, with untouched patina.
Ferrule looks like generic type A.

From my Point of view it is not a Horster crossguard 2. type I see a lot of differences between both crossguards, see the original crossguard from Horster type 2!!

Looks like Horster 2nd to me. Check it out on wardaggers crossguard reference site.

This is a very intersting site about Heer daggers, but in German.
Here you will find all the produced crossguards.

                Thanks, All.

The reference sites are excellent. I would agree it is a Horster 2nd, but, it is definitely not zinc or a cheap pot metal. It is a great high quality casting and finish and has evidence of a brass base metal showing through.

What about the pommel and ferrule - are they too Horster? Is there a good reference site for those?

                Thanks,

                Eric

Eric, as I stated my previous post, ferrule looks like generic type A.
Pommel looks like Eickhorn 3. type.

I agree with Schlange and others here, Horster guard (may be maker marked up inside guard) Eickhorn pommel and typical ferrel from period but not specific to one maker. Kevin.
