Info about Luftwaffe Dagger

Hi all!

Any information about this dagger would be much appreciated.

Also I know you hate this but could someone do a rough estimate on the value of the dagger and photos? Are we talking about maybe 1500$?

The dagger alone is worht maybe $400-500, the pictures another $200. Dealers would ask about 30% more... which gets you to around $900-1,000.

My opinion only of course.

You sure its a replaced grip?

The information I have is that this dagger has been in the family and untouched since the war.

If that is correct I would have a hard time seeing that its been replaced.

Type of grip wire is not WKC.
Also you can see bad fitting of dagger grip with pommel and ferrule.

No worries Henke.. I have a WKC Luft JUST like this one that I personally bought from the wife of the Veteran. Many variations to these daggers! This one is correct! I will post a few pictures of it when I get home today if you like. Best, Kevin.

Right on Kevin, I've had 4 or 5 WKC Lufts with the same type wire wrap and they are period correct !!

The dagger is not mine but it is still good news. I work as a pawnbroker and a customer wanted me to look up the value on this. These kind of daggers tend to be more pricy in Sweden then in US for some reason.

Anyway the man has been offered about $1000 for the dagger alone without the photos. So I will be happy to tell him that he has been offered a very good deal indeed.

I find it very unliky that I will end up with either of these items, but as a collector myself I find it fun to do this "check-ups" and Im very grateful for the information you all have provided me with and will be happy to pass it on.
