    Sword restoration help

I picked up a broken Eickhorn model 1693 sword. The knuckle guard tab, that the tang is peened to, is broken and missing. The plastic grip and ferrell is missing. I think I can fabricate and weld the missing tab. I'm looking for a grip and ferrell. Does anyone have those pieces or know where I could find those pieces. I know it's never going to be right. It's just a project trying rescue a piece of history from the trash.

If someone can lend me a grip I can make perfect copies In black plastic

My advice is - leave the sabre in the same state as it is now.
By adding reproductive parts on sabre, you will create only a worthless Frankenstein.

The sword is in pieces. This was a common sword and is of little value. The most value it has is the fun of restoration. It will never be a collectable. I just want to see if I can do it.

                Looks worth it.
You may have to shorten the handle and back strap a little to get enough of the tang to re-peen.

No need to peen over the tang the pin on the backstrap holds it all together.

It would be silly to leave it as it is ,whatever some people think, you cannot display it . I saw a very scruffy complete sword ,minus scabbard, at a fair a few months back I am going to the same fair Sunday if it's still there and cheap enough I will buy it
