Like you, Dennis, I have never seen another like this piece...! The photo is blurred, so I can't tell what the scabbard is showing; any tell-tale info on the blade? Better pix would be helpful.

IMO, like the Traffic song, "Dear Mr. Fantasy". Haven't run across this particular edged weapon before.
