Early SS Dagger by Gottlieb Hammesfahr up for Opinions

After seeing the post right below mine, my hopes for this have been stunted. Nevertheless, I wanted to post it. Daggers are't my thing, but I've always wanted an SS example. These are the best photos I have at the moment.

Is this dagger original ? I was under the impression that the scabbard should be black...

Good original early SS by Hammesfahr which I assume has the Roman numeral III to back of crossguard as all original Hammesfahr's do.

What should I be paying for this? Current asking price is $1800.

Sometimes black scabbards take on a brown look to them.

Hard to put a price on a piece from these pics but 1800 is probalby not far off the mark if the grip is as nice as it looks. And yes, the scabbards turn brown with age-with commensurate patina no worries there.
