Hello All,
I was looking for some information in the Forum on a recently acquired fighting knife kampfmesser and didn't find much by way of maker marked examples, so I am posting this one for reference.
One side of the ricasso is marked "hat 1942" (I believe for the maker, Gebrüder Gräfrath) the other side is marked, "WK&O" (not sure what this means). The overall condition is nice with some gray spots on the blade. The walnut handle is in excellent condition and the rivets are tight.
The original scabbard was replaced with the leather "souvenir" one seen in the picture. Not sure what the snaps secured, but the four pips were there. The two upper pips measure approx. 14.75mm square; the gray one 15mm and the fourth one 15.25mm (I don't know much about pips, but these seem large -- are they anything special?)
All comments are welcome!
Regards,
Eric
