yes I was curious about that as well, when I checked the RB number it was correct for Paul Weyersburg so I thought it had a chance,
I read somewhere on this forum that RB numbered kampfmesser are accepted in some versions I would like to know if this true and see one,

Thank you both for your expertise I will reject the Fake Kampfmesser,
I am surprised just how good some fakes can be, collecting is a big field of knowledge and nobody can be master of it all .

I have identical one.
Could it be that RB number was added to the original knife, to "increase a value" of it?
If it's a copy, it's a really good one.

I've seen this way of thinking with fake sabres - Russian shashka + Polish eagle from the cap = unique Polish shashka (which anyway existed in reality in 2ww)

BTW, on the knife from pictures, on the crossguard you can see signs that it was squeezed in the vice.
