    Rare Heer Maker Mark..

I thought I would put this one up for review. Found these rather bad pics of this "A" generic fitted Heer back in 2005 on a German auction sight, it went rather cheap and unfortunately not to me. Mark says "W. Cauberg est. 18?" under a Saber. These guys were a maker too!, of swords mostly seen prewar. Seen it before?? Kevin.

        Interesting find.
Here's some info for you via Anthony Carter.
Hope it helps on the timeline.

Close but not quite with the 'est' part of the logo.

Interesting indeed, looks like there is a connection with Anton Wingen. The MM with the "Little Knight"... and the "arc" over the name is a plow?? Kevin.

It's a clay pipe. The smoking kind.

                Kevin....
The upper pic is related to w. clauburg jun. (The younger or junior) . That's the one that seems to apply with the tm you showed.
The other W. Clauberg tms in the bottom pic ceased doing business soon after WWI and it's assets were acquired by Wingen.

                    Kevin,

A interesting mark & one I've never seen before. A shame you didn't get that Heer dagger, when will we see another? Thanks for sharing.
