SS scabbard with number

This is a SS Böker lower scabbard fitting.

Why is it numbered. Is it an assembly number?

Probably a post war museum inventory number. I believe I have seen this before.

It's a good theory but the dagger is a vet family find & probably never in a museum before.

The dagger isn't mine for now.

I'll try to know if other parts are stamped with this number.

Maybe is it like the Kreigsmarine's number, some depot marking used by some SS official office, who knows ?
