Just picked this up. The eagle is so lightly etched I cant say for sure it was done during the war. The maker mark is in a tight spot and I cant read it. I picked it up for $90, did I do ok?

In my opinion a original Höster.

The eagle on the crossguard wasn´t etched, it was chased (I hope its the right word, kind of egnraved.)

Looks to be a F W Holler model #3 - not in the best condition and I Guess no scabbard -

Hello, yes sometimes These crossguard eagles were stamped (done by ciseleurs) but this one as you clearly can see is the engraved variant.
