Question about RAD-Hewer Robert Klaas Solingen

    Hi collector friends,
we have in a German forum a discussion about an RAD-Hewer maker Robert Klaas, Solingen. Has Klaas producted RAD-Hewer before 1945, if yes it is possible to show photos from this hewer. Thanks for your opinions and best regards
Winfried (sorry for my bad English)

Hello....I did a search on this subject and am "resurrecting" this topic that was discussed back in 2014. I was given the opportunity to look through an "old" collection this past weekend. The gentleman has been collecting militaria for many years and had a RAD Enlisted hewer by Robert Klaas. I have never heard of one by this maker. It was a later plated version. I have several RAD hewers in my collection, and this one looked quite correct to me and had some of the most beautiful stag grips that I have seen on these.

Since this topic was last discussed here in 2014, has anyone seen or been able to verify that Klaas was indeed a maker of the RAD hewer? I see that Johnson has one on his site now for sale.

          Any opinions appreciated! - Matt

I was with Tom when he bought the one on his list and got to examine it and have to say it is definitely good, so its obvious Klaas made a few. It is interesting how some of these odd makers made EM Hewers like Klaas, Krebs and Alcoso (and how differently the Alcoso is marked).

Thanks Ron. I thought the one that I looked at was good too. I just had never seen that maker on a RAD before. The more we look....the more we learn!
