Stag horn grips look fine.....I can't see the blade well enough to tell whether/not sharpening has taken place.....IF it has, I'm sure the nickel plating would be gone in those areas....Bodes

          thanks for the reaction

          maybe than it isn't sharpen?
i mean these strips of rust..

On the other side (picture below there is almost no rust).
is it possible to safely remove this surface rust?

Please also look to the angle of the blade and the grip. it does bend down...
          Makers mistake??

Most will advise just leaving alone but I would say use oil and the finest steel wool (0000) you can find.....Wadding up aluminum foil into a ball w/oil should work as well.....The aluminum would be softer than the shiny surface on the blade.....IF that concerns you, there should be some chrome polishes which should be safe to try as well.....

I can't explain the reason why the blade and handle have such a discrepancy....Does it fit into the scabbard okay?....IF so, I wouldn't be overly concerned....Bodes
