I am thinking about getting this, I like it even though it is a little salty. I just can't seem to find another one that matches the design perfectly, a lot are very close, but with slight variations. Also the point at the bottom of the handle looks like its pointing way off the center of the blade. Is that usual?

I don't have access to my reference books at the moment but it appears to be a "Zieten" from the Eickhorn Field Marshal series. It is original IMO although, as you noted, a bit salty. -
A Eickhorn #1734 Zieten for sure. Fairly common, not hard to fine. I'd hold out for one in better condition, unless it's dirt cheap. IMO.Comment
