To be honest, I never thought about the option, that there would be late Helbig without screws, the "shrinked" pieces normally are dated early (police/SS sword for instance)

Well, I really don´t know if pieces without screws exist, normally there are some,,,

Once in the past I saw a dress bayonet scabbard, also without screw.

Not 'normal'. Unusual. If there are no holes drilled in the fittings then it was made to be a press fit. -JMO-
