    Yes definitley fooled with dagger, if it were mine i would strip that white paint gently from the grip & then leave it as is,

      They likely painted it for a reason. You may find the grip is busted under the paint so think hard before messing further with it.

        Paul has an excellent point. Removing the paint we know was added postwar might reveal a lot of damage. It doesn't look so awful as is, I'd suggest you leave it as is.

          Paul, Billy your are both right. I,ll leave it as is.

          I have a thermographic camera that i use for work so i might have a play with it, if it is damaged the heat signature may vary. Of course I will have to warm it up first so I will await a sunny day.
