Sword ID Help Please - Imperial? UK? German? No Markings

    Hey everyone:

Any ideas on this sword? I've given it a good look-see and can find no markings. Strikes me as German-ish, maybe UK of some type?

    Thanks in advance!

Not in my main areas, and more commonly seen with a rib back blade, it seems to a variant of the Austrian model 1904 cavalry saber. FP

                  Definitely 1869 Austrian Officer Sword.
Blade and scabbard were heavy cleaned and lost the original dark finiture.

                    Skip, you have a Austro-Hungarian Cavalry Officer's saber - M1904.
I do not see the mark of producer, but judging by the look, i guess that is made in Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

As Schlange says, it's the Officer's model. And very well could be of Austro-Hungarian manufacture. The enlisted version has about 12 or so small round holes in the basket instead of the more ornate scroll work. With the rib back type blade - some of the enlisted man's version sabers after WW I were taken into service by the Czechoslovakian Army. With the fullered style blade that this saber has common for many of the earlier cavalry sabers, but I don't know if that has any particular significance here or was just an option. FP

I would say it could be Dutch Infantry or Cavalry officer. Take a look at this:

                          http://prints.rmg.co.uk/art/520235/H...officers_sword

The design of the guard is very similar to the one you have.
