    Ss Führerdegen portepee, genuine??

    Hello everybody!

I need a good portepee for my genuine SS sword. I have seen the below example for sale at 900 EUR (1157 USD) It comes with an expertise, but I'm not sure if it was issued for the very same item...

Is this portepee genuine in your opinion?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Jose

I Like it - It's not an early example, but I think this one is good.
It would suit a mid to late SS Officer Degen.

For that kind of money I would not one with such a terrible looking repair of a stitch job. -JMO-

        Hi Wagner,

As much as I could see, that terrible looking "stitch job" is probably not a repair, as it is common thing for an SS portepee:

        Please note, that's a 4x enlarged photo...

My question is for authenticity only. I will post some new photos this evening

Top quality SS portepees sells for $1500...

        All my best!

Well it was JMO. If these are selling for $1500. in this market - ? If you say so, my guys say -no, but there may be one soon.

But if it's not a restitch, it sure looks like it will need one, as it's coming apart.

But please, go ahead on it don't let me dissuade you. Looks original to me.

as for the price, if you are paying $1500 even for a mint one, you are overpaying.

Many thanks for your post! Yes I have seen a few of these for sale at 1450 - 1800! But they really were top-quality!

I think also this one need some restitch, I will care of it

Meanwhile I have emailed the seller, because imo is a good buy...

All my best and again many thanks

Just because they are for sale at that price doesn't mean they are selling. Look at the rest of his prices....I have bought these for half of that price....
