Looks to be a Robert Klass pre - 1938 style etched blade.

It is a Klaas etch and has been rehilted.. the bayonet did not originally come with wooden grips.

John, Extra-Seitengewehre, ("dress bayonets") came with bakelite grips and stag grips.
There´re also wooden grip plates, imitating staghorn !

Maybe Bill could show better images of the hilt from both sides.
IMO it looks good so far.

Here´s another example of an etched Extra-Seitengewehr, manufactured by Robert Klaas for comparison.

                Best regards,
                R.

I have seen wooden grips on regular KS98s, but on etched? For, example, I have seen wooden grips on the 42 over shoulder TM Eickhorn bayonets. I have a long and a short example of the over shoulder marked KS98 with wooden grips (sometimes called artificial stag). These grips are thought to be late war.

I think that the mixture of the etch pattern and the late war wood grips would be of some concern.

                              No stag !

But, for me, the grip plates are period ones.
