        Ron,

        The vet's Social Security number is unobtrusive & adds a nice additional historical element to the dagger which is very nicely conditioned. Thanks for sharing it.

          ahhh......I remember in the 1970s when you could borrow an engraving pen from the Sheriffs department to mark your valuables! I still have a portable black and white tv with my dads SS number engraved in the back!

              Social Security No. 489 28 6187 was assigned to Henry Fritzemeyer, DOB Sept. 12, 903, DOD Oct. 1, 1980. Looks like it really is a German, or one with German ancestry, with a Social Security number.
