    Rare Maker Mark?

This dress bayonet is either WWI or TR, I am not sue. Not in good shape at all. I have handled maybe 200 dress bayonets and never seen this mark. Nor have I seen it on any web sites. Anyone know anything about this mark? Any help is needed. Thanks! daniel tarr817j

    Hi Daniel,

That maker mark is not familiar to me, either, and dress bayonets are not normally within the range of my study, but it looks like the remaining half of the grip is made of bakelite, which I think would mean that this piece was probably made after WWI. Just a guess...

I knew the name of this stamp-mark, but I can not remember what it's called.
Otherwise bayonet dates from the Weimar Republic period.

I agree that this mark was used in the Weimar period, possibly into the early 3R based on an example I saw previously that looked unmessed with. Interesting mark, I don't know if it's for an individual manufacturer or a distributor.
