Is the hanger/clip below to be considered early and suitable for a Sauer & Sohn SA dagger?

The metal clip looks like a solid nickle.

Are there any markings on this hanger, either stamped onto the clip or onto the reverse leather? This could be a very early example; the wear gives it good character.
